Vacuum Pad
Vacuum Pad for Packaging Bag
Realizes followability to work-piece and posture stabilization during conveyance. Suitable for bag-like articles.
Advantages
Realizes followability to work-piece and posture stabilization during conveyance. Suitable for bag-like articles.
Realizes followability to work-piece and posture stabilization during conveyance.
Soft material is used for lip part, and hard material is used for bellows part.
Two selections of rubber hardness for lip part.
Soft material (lip color:blue) is for packaging bag which is made of thick vinyl or sheet.
Extra soft material (lip color:pink) is for deformable packaging bag.
Two selections of oversuction preventing adapter.
・Plane type is for hard packaging material (Pouch package, etc.).
・Spherical type is for soft packaging material (Shirataki bag, etc.).
Oversuction preventing adapter with stainless mesh is also prepared.
・Prevent the suction of foreign substances and avoid the troubles of vacuum system.
・Filtering accuracy:100μm (Reference value)
Two selections for bellows layer:3 and 5.
・Compared to 5 bellows type, 3 bellows type is shorter by approx. 25.3% in height.
・3 bellows type contributes the posture stability of a work-piece in high-speed conveyance.
・5 bellows type is suitable for liquid packaging which easily deforms.
For work-piece contacting parts, Food Safe Act. (Japan) complied and FDA equivalent materials(*) are used. *This product is not FDA certificated.

Detailed Safety Instructions
Warning
1.When installing the bulkhead type vacuum pad holder to the actual equipment, refer to the following table of the tightening torque of the bulkhead mounting nut of pad holder and tighten it using the appropriate tool, and confirm that there is no loosening.
2.When installing direct mount type pad holder, check the following tightening torque table, and tighten it using the appropriate tool, and confirm that there is no loosening.
3.For the direct mount vacuum pad holder, with parallel pipe thread type and with M8 or M14 metric thread type are sealed with an O-ring, and M5 or M6 metric thread type is sealed with a gasket. When installing the unit on the actual equipment, make sure that the contact area of the O-ring and gasket on the machine surface is smooth and free of scratches and dents.
4.Due to its characteristics, the theoretical suction force of this product may exceed the physical strength of the pad itself, depending on the degree of vacuum, a safety factor of at least 1/16 for horizontal lifting and 1/25 for vertical lifting should be used. Be sure to perform the adsorption test on the actual operating condition.
Caution
1.For the pads for packaging bag, use the allowable pressing stroke as a guide, do not crush the bellows too much. Excessive crushing may cause premature wear of the bellows, cracking of the lip, and deformation due to strain, which may result in suction failure.
2.Be sure to attach the oversuction preventing adapter to this product. If used without the oversuction preventing adapter, the vacuum pad may be deformed and cause suction failure.
3.When attaching or detaching the oversuction preventing adapter to or from the product, excessive pulling on the lip may cause damage to the lip.
4.Since the suction flow rate is structurally reduced with the oversuction preventing adapter with stainless steel mesh, perform the suction test on the actual operating condition.
5.Regularly check for clogging with the oversuction preventing adapter with stainless steel mesh. Clogging may cause poor performance or trouble. Clean or replace with new one if necessary.
6.Install the oversuction preventing adapter in the proper position referring to the following figure. If not installed in the proper position, suction failure may occur.
7.The spherical oversuction preventing adapter is mounted deeper than the pad suction surface, so that the ribs on the pad suction surface fall in one direction when the workpiece, which is flat and difficult to deform, is picked up, and a rotational load is applied. This rotational force can lead to loosening of the screw or damage to the mounting part. When suctioning a flat workpiece which is difficult to deform, use the flat suction prevention adapter.
Frequently Asked Questions for Vacuum Pad Series
The highest operative temperature limit depends on the pad material. For Urethane rubber's highest operative limit is 60℃, nitrile rubber's 110℃, and fluorine rubber's 230℃. (For the other rubber materials' highest limits, please refer to our catalogue.)
The above highest operative temperature limit is for only instant use. When the product is used under the highest operative temperature limit for a certain length of time, careful attentions are necessary.
Request of spring force change will be treated as a special order request in PISCO. Please contact your nearest sales office.
*) Please note that we cannot always meet a request of changing the spring force.
Yes, they are.
For the standard holder types such as VPC and VPD, the key way machined on the shaft gets fit with the rotation-lock thread so that it prevents the shaft rotation.
For small sized pad holders such as VPMC and VPMD, shaft itself is hexagonally machined which prevents rotation.
It is possible to minimize suction force decline of a vacuum pad by installing a fall prevention valve on multiple vacuum pads even when there are un-sucking pads.
The fall prevention valve, however, does not completely shut down the air circuit and it sucks a little amount of air. Depending on the number of un-sucking pads, required vacuum for the air circuit may not be achieved.
Besides, in case of sucking one work peace by multiple Vacuum Pads, even when the fall prevention valve can reduce vacuum decline, there is still a possibility that the work peace loose the balance so that the sucking Vacuum Pads may be released.
Please refer to the following "pad inner diameter" of the pad rubber to be attached.
Pad size | Pad inner diameter |
---|---|
φ1mm |
φ0.5mm |
φ2mm |
φ0.6mm |
φ3mm |
φ0.8mm |
φ4mm |
φ1.2mm |
No pad rubber (pad holder only) |
φ1.6mm |
*) Adsorbable up to this pad diameter
The inner diameter of the pad holder itself of the Air Pincette is φ1.6 mm, but since the pad diameter φ1 to 4 mm mentioned above has a smaller pad inner diameter than that, it is possible to adsorb workpieces of φ1.6 mm or less as shown in the above figure.
The pad inner diameter of the pad size φ6, 8 mm is larger than the pad inner diameter of the holder, so it is suitable for φ1.6 mm or more.
It is a dimensional calculation to the last, and may differ depending on the workpiece to be adsorbed. Ultimately, we ask you to judge the actual machine.
There are two ways of measuring pressure, absolute pressure and gauge pressure.
Absolute pressure
Absolute pressure is zero-referenced against a perfect vacuum.
It is commonly used to measure flow rate.
When indicated, "abs" is inserted following the unit, for example 10 kPa abs.
Gauge pressure
Gauge pressure is zero-referenced against ambient air pressure.
It indicate how much pressure per 1cm2 is against the ambient air pressure. It is commonly used for indication of manometer. When the pressure is over the ambient air pressure, it is called "positive pressure" and when it is under the ambient air pressure, it is called "negative pressure."
